I am Jayanthi M from India. I have been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis from 25 years of my age. Now I am 52 and still suffering. It had initially started affecting my leg joints with severe pain and swelling. I couldn’t walk for a long period of time. Then it affected my wrist joints. The doctors put me on steroids and they said I was a rare case as my RA test was negative but clinically I had all the features. Leg pain eventually reduced but the swelling got limited to hands. I had very limited movement of hands. This year it got exaggerated again with fever and severe joint pains and had to get admitted to hospital. Various test showed severe RA positive
with ANA profile indicating mild sjogrens. Now I am on steroids and hcqs. It’s been a long journey for me with this arthritis. I still find it difficult to lift heavy objects. Winters are horrible. I pray that no one should experience such a pain which is unbearable. I hope there is some cure soon. I wish I could be of some help in finding the cure.
