I’ve had RA most of my life. I have joint damage in hands, elbows, wrists and some shoulder limitations because I can’t fully extend my arms.
It all began in my late teens when the bottoms of my feet felt bruised. Then one day, I could not walk. Every joint in my body was under attack, including my jaw.
I was an athlete. I was active. And like most, the news was devastating.
When I was diagnosed, there weren’t many options for treatment. My body rejected gold. I became extremely ill with others.
Long story short. I’m married with four grown sons and one grandchild. I am a certified personal trainer, Comprehensively certified in Pilates, Health Coach, CoreAlign Instructor through Balanced Body, and I specialize in “ special populations.” I am one, so I get it. It’s my passion.
I offer support and training to others with auto-immune diseases, but I work with other populations as well.
I have been on a biologic for the past ten years. I exercise everyday. I eat for health.
It’s been a long journey. When I was first diagnosed, I felt like I was on an island. I didn’t know anyone else with the disease. I tried to hide it for years. I’m thankful for platforms that offer support and unity. I am proud of the hard work I have put in over the years. I have learned so much. My heart’s ambition is to help others so they feel supported, heard and understood, and to help them move better.
