I was diagnosed with AS when I was 23. I’m 50 now. Over the past 3 years, I have had 2 hip replacements and 1 knee replacement. I will be getting my other knee replaced in the next month. The past 30 years have been very challenging for me. I had to stop working at the age of 35 because my job was very physical and my hips and back were fusing so I couldn’t continue to work. Since my back has fused and after my joint replacements, the amount of pain I’m experiencing has decreased a lot plus being on Humira has been life-changing for me. I continue to fight this disease and try and live my life to the fullest. This past August I was fortunate enough to be able to go to see my favorite band, Iron Maiden, with my 2 sons which a few years ago seemed like it would only be a dream.
